As the child grows he develops different tastes, not just the taste but colour of the food also attracts the babies. Hence once our little one starts eating solid food it a big task for mommies to make the food tasty and colorful as well, this will also help in not making the kids fussy eaters.
Here is one easy and healthy receipe for all the toddlers.
Sevai(vermicilli) Upma
Ingredients:
1/2 cup - sevai
Desi ghee(precisely cow ghee)- 2 tbsp
Grated carrot
Few spinach leaves
Half tomato chopped
Cumin seeds
Turmeric
Water
Sugar
Salt
Preparation:
In a pan heat 2 tbsp of desi ghee for tempering.
Add 1/2 tbsp cumin seeds or jeera as we call it, a pinch of hing, 1/2tbsp turmeric.
Saute this for a min then add the vegetables that we have taken- carrot, tomato and spinach. We can add as many veggies as we like and also the ones which our toddlers can eat.
After adding the veggies saute it for 10min to cook in the ghee and then add 1 cup of water.
As the water boils add salt as per taste and pinch of sugar to give it good taste.
As the mixture boils add sevai into it and stir. Let the mixture be on a low flame for the sevai to boil.
Once the sevai is soft upma is ready to be served. You can call this a desi version of noodles and the healthy one. Your baby will surely enjoy this.
